Kia Triumphs at iF Design Awards

Kia has achieved a significant victory at the 2024 iF Design Awards, securing multiple prestigious honors across five different brand products and design elements. The highlight of the event was the Kia EV9's remarkable win of the ‘Gold’ award.

With 10,800 entries from 72 countries, the iF Design Awards are among the most esteemed and fiercely competitive design competitions worldwide. Judged by a panel of distinguished design experts, each nomination undergoes a meticulous selection process before winners are chosen in each category.

Earning this recognition for the EV9 is a tremendous honor, as Kia remains committed to breaking new ground and making a global impact through innovative automotive design.

A Golden Triumph for the Kia EV9

The Kia EV9 stole the spotlight at the iF Design Awards, earning the prestigious Gold award. Reserved for the top 75 designs globally, this ‘Gold’ accolade is a remarkable achievement, celebrating the EV9’s significant impact on the world stage.

Karim Habib, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design, expressed his thoughts on the victory: “This award is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our entire team of designers and engineers. Opposites United: A Winning Design Philosophy

The ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy harmonizes the contrasting elements of nature and modernity, drawing inspiration from the interplay between these two seemingly opposing forces. In the Kia EV9, this concept comes to life through bold, assertive geometry paired with sleek, fluid contours, resulting in a vehicle that is both striking and futuristic.

The EV9’s exterior commands attention with standout features like the Digital Tiger Face, dual panoramic sunroof, GT-Line alloy wheels, and distinctive LED headlamps. While its design exudes confidence and style, it also ensures practicality and an enjoyable driving experience.

The iF Design Award judges praised the EV9’s design, stating: “The Kia EV9 pushes the aesthetic boundaries of a large SUV while enhancing its functional performance.”

Inside, the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) creates an ultra-spacious, flat-floor cabin designed for maximum comfort and flexibility. The second-row swivel seats are a standout feature, allowing passengers to create their own social space on the go.

Commenting on the EV9, the iF judging panel remarked: “Its contemporary design language makes other large SUVs look outdated, while the swiveling second-row seats and various functional features make life on board more social. Who said sustainable design can’t be exciting?”
